Post Season Team Info

Beaverton Area Little League traditionally fields post-season teams for baseball and softball at the conclusion of each season. These teams are selected by the managers and coaches from the AAA and Majors divisions and are selected to best compete in tournament play, with the emphasis on advancement in those tournaments, and the ultimate goal of winning championships. There is a level of sacrifice and commitment expected by the players and their families for the duration of post season practices and tournament play.

Involvement with All Stars is a unique and rewarding experience for those players and parents that enjoy and understand competitive baseball and softball. It offers a tremendous opportunity to build new friendships while participating in an intensive practice and game environment. It is the desire of Beaverton Area Little League that the memories of post season tournament play be a positive one for both the players and their parents.

Beaverton Area Little League is a member of District 4, which conducts post season tournaments each year for both baseball and softball. The following tournaments are offered; however, the B.A.L.L. Board of Directors will determine which tournament(s) we will participate in each year:

  1. 11-12 Majors All Stars - This is the highest level of tournament play for Little League. Winners progress through the District, State, Region, and ultimately back to Williamsport for the Little League World Series.
  2. 10-11 All Stars - This is also a recognized Little League tournament with district winners advancing to the State Tournament. It gives players a chance to experience post season play at a high level of competition in preparation for the Majors Tournament.
  3. 9-10 All Stars - This is also a Little League recognized tournament for younger players with winners advancing as far as the State Tournament. It is used to build play-off experience at a high level of competition for following years.
  4. 11-12 Honors - This is a tournament that is run by District 4 only and is limited to play at the district level. The tournament offers many youth an opportunity for post season play who would otherwise not have a chance for this unique experience.
  5. 9-10 Honors - This is also a District 4 run tournament for younger players that would not have the opportunity to participate in tournament play. The experience of playing at this level is often times a great motivator for players as they become older and want to play in other post season tournaments.

Commitment forms will be distributed by AAA and Majors managers in May and must be signed by both player and parent in order to be considered for selection to a post season team.

Parents please take note: Post season teams begin practice in mid June; depending upon team success, tournament play could continue through July and even into August for teams progressing as far as the Little League World Series.
