BALL JOINS PCA

joins forces with

Beaverton Aloha Little League is pleased to announce to its 300 players and their families that the league has joined forces with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) to educate the players, parents, and coaches of the league with the goal of honoring the game while teaching life's lessons. This will be accomplished through a series of training sessions with Positive Coaching Alliance's professional trainers. The schedule for these sessions is:

Players (50/70 and Junior Divisions) - Becoming A Triple-Impact Competitor® trains student-athletes to make a positive impact on three levels by working to improve themselves, teammates and their sport as a whole. (Session is one hour long)

Saturday, April 2nd at 1 pm for all players in 50/70 and Juniors Divisions

Parents (All Divisions) - The Second Goal® Parent Workshop: Developing Winners in Life Through Sports draws from the Double-Goal Coach model (winning and life lessons) to help parents focus on the second goal, ensuring their children gain the higher value of youth and high school sports regardless of scoreboard results. (Session is 45 minutes long) *choose one session to attend*

Saturday, March 12th, 8 am and 9 am for parents of all age players

Monday, March 21st, 6:15 pm for parents of all age players

Saturday, April 2nd at 12 pm for parents of all age players

Coaches (All Divisions) - Double-Goal Coach®: Coaching for Winning and Life Lessons establishes PCA's premise that youth and high school sports entail the goal of winning and the more important goal of teaching life lessons through sports. Each attendee leaves as a PCA-certified Double-Goal Coach, learning how to Coach for Mastery of Sport (Not Just the Scoreboard); Fill Emotional Tanks; and Honor the Game. (Session is 2 hours long) *each session will be geared toward a particular age group but feel free to choose another session if the timing works better*

Saturday, March 12th, 10 am for coaches of players in TeeBall, Single A and Double A

Monday, March 21st, 7pm for coaches of players in Triple A and Major Division

Saturday, April 2nd 10 am for coaches of players in 50/70 and Junior Division

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
Posted Mar 25, 2015

We all get tired of hearing about the need for volunteers. However, we can not stress enough how important of a role volunteers are in keeping this league alive!  We need 3 Single A managers and 2 DBL A managers.

Without them we have no way to help foster the great game of baseball with our kids. No way to teach them how to play the game we love to watch. And no way to watch our kids grow physically and mentally as they play the game of baseball.

We still have several much needed volunteer positions left. Several of our previous volunteers who have given countless hours to our league have had their children graduate out of youth baseball. Some are in their last year here.

We need you...yes you...to come help us lead this league so we can succeed in our goals. Even if you can only help out a little, together we can make our league a great place to be.

If you can spare some time and want to learn a little bit about Beaverton Aloha Little Leagues needs, please contact Gustavo Mestas for more information.

You can email Gustavo at thepresident.ball@gmail.com.

Play BALL!

The words "Play Ball!" are a public proclamation used to begin playing a baseball game and that is exactly what role they serve here!  Beaverton Aloha Little League  is ready to dust off the mitt, straighten our cap, and Play Ball!

Play Ball also has a secondary meaning and that is to urge baseball players to choose Beaverton Aloha Little League (B.A.L.L.) as their home league. This is a very exciting year for B.A.L.L. as we celebrate being the State Champions of the Intermediate (50/70) Division and as we begin using our brand new indoor practice facility.

If you played with us either last Spring or Fall, you will find registration very easy.  Simply enter your user name and password and most of your information will already be present!  Volunteers will also find the registration easy!  We have a real need for Managers, Coaches, Team Parents, and a few other positions, so please sign up to help your league be the best it can be!

We are proud to have been a Little League for over 55 years where we have helped literally tens of thousands kids learn about baseball and softball.  Speaking of softball, if you are interested in that program, click on the Softball link on the Registration tab to find out about an exciting development that will undoubtedly be a real benefit to our softball players and their families.

Little League has become the standard for families and players: It emphasizes a sense of community; moms and dads getting involved, grandparents cheering, and our precious kids learning how to play the great sport of baseball. Together we will work to build "major league" people who will rise up some day to make a difference in the world!

As for this year, we are planning a year filled with fun, skill development, and a celebration of all things baseball. I look forward to seeing you at a game this season!

With best regards,

Kirk Mandlin, President

PLAY BALL!

The words "Play Ball!" are a public proclamation to begin playing baseball and that is exactly what role they serve here! Beaverton Aloha Little League (yes we changed our name to more accurately describe the area of Washington County that our families live in) is ready to dust off the mitt, straighten our cap, and Play Ball!

Play Ball also has a secondary meaning and that is to urge baseball players to choose Beaverton Aloha Little League (B.A.L.L.) as their home league. As you can see, we have a new website and, as you will see, we have a revamped registration process which is much easier. You will see and feel other changes as we fulfill our goal which is to provide you an outstanding experience for your ball player where he can learn the skills of baseball, the benefits of hard work and practice and the joy of playing well as a team.

We are proud to have been a "Little League" for over 40 years and celebrate the fact that "Little League" is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. Little League has become the standard for families and players: It emphasizes a sense of community, moms and dads getting involved, grandparents cheering , and our precious kids learning how to play the great sport of baseball.
